Born and raised in Mendocino County, Ashley Schaeffer Yildiz is a lifelong vegetarian and animal rights activist. She is a proud new mom, fiercely committed to halting industrial expansion of oil palm plantations to ensure that orangutans and other wildlife don't become extinct. Deeply inspired by nutrition and the food movement's work to reclaim our broken food system, Ashley has been a Palm Oil Campaigner at RAN since 2009. Before joining RAN, she worked on social and environmental justice campaigns across the country with Amazon Watch, Green Corps, and Greenpeace for several years. Prior to her career as an organizer she worked for the World Learning Institute in Ecuador.

Renée G. Soule, PhD candidate in Psychology at Meridian University, has been developing and teaching ecopsychology for over 25 years. She is Director of Virtual Learning at Sustainable World Coalition, adjunct faculty at the California Insitute of Integral Studies and teaches Nonviolent Communication in San Quentin Prison.
